Police arrested a local leader Jubo League after a reported gunfight and recovered huge arms and ammunition from his house in Mogdhara village in Sandwip upazila on Friday.
The arrestee Zahid Sarwar Prakash Shimul is an organizing secretary of Sandip Upazila Jubo League.
Five policemen including Sandip Police Station Officer-In-Charge of Md Shahjahan were injured in the gunfight, said of Shompa Rani Saha, Assistant Superintend of Shitakunda police.
