UNB, Sylhet :A local Jubo League leader was chopped to death by unidentified miscreants at Katakhal in Companyganj upazila on Friday evening.The deceased was identified as Abdul Ali, 32, son of late Sonahar Ali of Companyganj village in the upazila.Police and witnesses said a group of miscreants, numbering 14-15, swooped on Abdul Ali in the area on his way home and chopped him with sharp weapons, leaving him injured.Critically injured Abdul Ali was taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 7:30pm.Victim’s family members claimed that Ali was killed by the supporters of his rival Jubo League leader Shamim.On information, police visited the spot.
