A Dhaka court on Sunday placed Jubo Dal president Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal on a 3-day remand in a case filed in connection with Wednesday’s violence at Chawkbazar in the city. Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Masud Sheikh passed the order after rejecting his bail prayer when Chawkbazar thana officer-in-charge and also investigation officer of the case Md Illias produced him before the court seeking a 10-day remand. Police arrested president of BNP’s youth wing Jubo Dal Alal from his Lalmatia residence on Saturday night. He was shown arrested in a case filed with Chawkbazar police station for vandalism and preventing police from discharging their duties on December 26.
