A Jubo Dal leader was slaughtered in a broad-day light by a gang of unidentified miscreants at Barobazar of Kaliganj upazila in Jhenaidah district on Saturday afternoon.
The victim has been identified as Mintu Mandal (40), son of Atiar Mandal from Subarnasara village. Mintu Mandal was the organizing secretary of Barobazar Union Jubo Dal.
Anwar Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kaliganj Police Station, said that a gang of masked people slaughtered Mintu when he was working at his fishing perimeter in the village.
The body was recovered from beside the Fishing Perimeter and sent to the district Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
“We are trying to arrest the killers after analyzing the killing evidence, the OC said.
