Liveliness and re-encouragement returned in the Mohiuddin camp of Awami League, Chittagong City Unit following the selection of Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel as Central Organising secretary of Awami League in recently held council session of the party . Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury is the son of city AL president and former Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury.
Very recently Mohiuddin Chowdhury became confined in the local AL politics but with the inclusion of his son in the important post of the AL central committee, the leaders, supporters and workers of Mohiuddin faction burst into jubilant and more active to the party activities, different sources said. The leaders, workers of Mohiuddin camp distributed sweets among the party workers and brought out jubilant procession in different city areas .
The supporters of the camp stormed in his residence at Chasma hill to facilitate the new Organising Secretary and greets Mohiuddin Chowddhry and his wife Hasina Mohiuddin with floral bouquets. City unit of Chhatra League announced earlier for bringing out jubilant procession yesterday but Nowfel temporarily suspended the program a party sources said.
While contacted general secretary of City Chhatra League Nurul Azim Roni told that with the instructions of Nowfel Bhai, we suspended the procession program but a number of scattered held a number of jubilant procession in city areas in their own banners not of city Chatra league.
Nowfel chowdhury told the media persons that he will enjoy with jubilant procession following the assuming the state power in next election as Prime Minister has pledged for winning in next election. He said if the party comes into power in next t erm , jubilant procession and other victory programs will bechalked out . A student leader Farid Mahmud told the media that Mohiuddin chowdhury still controls 75% leaders, workers of city AL despite any administrative responsibility and there is no alternative of Mohiuddin Chowdhury in Chittagong AL politics.
Meanwhile following the declaration of Nowfel Chowdhury as Organising secretary by the central committee, the city turns into jubilant processions instantly , different sources said. In the evening on Tuesday , the Chhatra league unit of Omargani MES college in city brought out a huge procession in city road which paraded the surrounding areas. City Jubo league leader Besides, Chhatra League, Jubo League Unit of Chittagong college, Mohsin college also arranged jubilant rally and procession in front of the respective colleges, sources said. Mohiuddin Chowdhury is the successful. Mayor of the city corporation and he assumes power of Mayor for continuous 17 years upto 2010. In last CCC election he was not nominated for Mayor by AL election committee .
