Staff Reporter :A Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal leader was shot dead by unknown miscreants in the city’s Jigatola area on Sunday afternoon.The deceased was identified as Afzal Hossain Sattar alias Gal Kata Sattar, 50, former JubaDal President of Ward No. 48. Quoting the victim’s relatives and doctors, Hazaribagh Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Kazi Mainul Islam said that Sattar came under attack when he came out from a mosque in the area after Zohr prayers. Two gunmen riding a motorcycle reached in front of the mosque and fired bullets targeting him around 2:15pm. He was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where the on duty doctors declared him dead at 2:45pm.The OC said that the body was handed to the relatives of the victim. He was also an associate of former BNP lawmaker Nasiruddin Ahmed Pintu.At least 14 cases were against Sattar in different police stations under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).Police are trying to arrest the miscreants involved in the killing, the OC said.
