Police detained a local leader of Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal and his associate along with fire arms in a robbery case from Oxygen area under Baiyzid thana early on Sunday.
The arrested were identified as M Tajuddin, 38, son of late Badsha Miah, hailed from Fatikchari. He is the President of Juba Dal Panch
laish Ward and Abdul Kader, 40, son of Sultan Ahmed, hailed from Oxygen area.
M Mohosin, Officer-in-Charge of Baiyzid Police Station, said on 21 March last, a robbery incident took place in the same area.
Then two persons were arrested in this connection and they confessed to the involvement of Tajuddin.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested the duo around 2:30 am.
Police also recovered a LG during the drive.
In a primary investigation they confessed to their involvement in the robbery, the OC added.
