A press conference was held in Ishwardi demanding cancellation of the convening committee of the newly announced Ishwardi Municipal Juba Dal signed by Central Juba Dal office secretary Kamarajzaman Dulal. Former general secretary of Ishradi Municipal Juba Dal Zakir Hossain Jewel, Ishwardi Upazila Juba Dal leader Sultan Hossain Tony, senior joint convener of Municipal BNP SM Fazlur Rahman and Upazila BNP convener Ahsan Habib spoke. Speakers demanded the removal of Habibur Rahman Habib, advisor to Begum Khaleda Zia and convener of Pabna district BNP. Leaders of Ishradi Upazila and Municipal BNP and all its affiliates were present at the time.
The speakers further said that a controversy has arisen over the committee members of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and its affiliated organizations. The convening committee of today’s Municipal Juba Dal is a reflection of the dictatorship and destruction of central BNP leader and Pabna district BNP convener Habibur Rahman Habib. Excluded are former Municipal Juba Dal president Mostafa Noor Alam Shyamal, former acting president of Municipal Juba Dal Md Akhter Hossain Nifa, vice-president Md Mahbubul Islam, Juba Dal leader Jahangir Alam and Md Sujan. Md. Abdul and many more. However, in order to destroy and weaken the party, Habibur Rahman Habib has included people who have not been involved in any party activities in the last 13/14 years in the committee of the Municipal Juba Dal.
