Dr Mohammad Nasir Uddin, immediate past Treasurer of Jahangirnagar University (JU) and also a Professor of History Department, died of cardiac arrest at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on Wednesday. He left behind his wife, son, two daughters and a host of students, relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death. The Namaj-e-Janaza of the deceased was held on the field in front of Vice-Chancellor’s residence at about 4.30 pm while more than a thousands of the well-wishers including teachers, students, officers and staffs were take part at the Janaza. Besides, in a condolence message, JU authority has expressed deep shock and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members. In a press release, JU authority said his void in the field of history and research will never be filled up.
Later, he was buried at his Family graveyard in Dhamrai. Professor Nasir Uddin started his career as a lecturer of the JU History Department in 1984. On May, 2009, he was nominated as a treasurer of the university.
