JU students demand reopening by Sept 30

The students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Thursday evening brought out a torchlight procession on the campus demanding the reopening of the university by September 30.
The agitator students started the procession from the Central Shaheed Minar premises of the university at around 6:45 p.m. which ended at the Chowrongi Mor with a short rally.
Addressing the rally, Rakibul Rony, a student of Urban and Regional Planning department, said, “The university authority is procrastinating to reopen the university. We gave enough time to take preparation. But after September 30, we won’t tolerate this. We will enter into the halls breaking the lock of the gate.
“The university authority have to bear if anything happen unexpectedly “, Rony added.
Shovon Rahman, a student of Physics department said, our demand is very clear. The authority have to reopen the university by this month. We won’t stay a single day more out of halls after September 30.
Nuruzzaman Shuvo, a student of history department said, A few number of students are not vaccinated according to the university authority. If the authority wants, they can complete it within a single day by installing vaccination booth in the campus.
Conducted by Riddha Annidya of Archaeology department, Riazul Islam Rihan of Philosophy department spoke in the rally among others.
