Left leaning students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) staged a demonstration on the campus demanding terror and occupants free campus yesterday.
Students forum under the banner “Praggatishil Chattro Jote” demand four clause, brought out a protest rally from the Central Shahid Minar of the university that ended at the JU Old Registrar building after parading different streets on the campus.
Later, they submitted a memorandum with four point demand to JU Vice Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam at her office.
Secretary of JU VC Sanwar Hossain received the memorandum on behalf of VC.
Their four point demands were included with ensuring terror and violence free campus, ensuring punishment of the students who assaulted and threatened general students during quota reforming movement, driving the invalid students out from the dormitory and ensuring safety of the general students on the campus.
Mentionable, the leaders of the progressive student alliance would meet with Vice Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam tomorrow since they failed to meet her yesterday.
