JU student held for bad remarks on Bangabandhu

The leaders and the activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), student wing of ruling Awami League, Jahangirnagar University unit, handed over a student to police on charge of making controversial remarks in Facebook on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Ashulia Police on Wednesday night arrested Shamsul Alam Babu, a final year student of Government and Politics
Department and a residential student of Maulana Bhashani Hall.
Sources said, BCL JU unit Vice-President Al Amin Shetu wrote an article on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s book ‘Ashamapto Atmajiboni’ (Unfinished Memoirs) which was published in a national daily.
BCL JU unit Organizing Secretary Murshidur Rahman Akand shared the published article in Facebook while Shamsul Alam condemned the Bangabandhu and Prime Minister.
Following it, aggrieved Murshidur Rahman Akand and Al Amin Shetu identified Shamsul Alam and handed him over to police.
Organizing Secretary Murshidur Rahman Akand said, we are soldiers of Sheikh Hasina and so no indecent and false remarks against our leaders and party would not be tolerated.
JU Proctor, Prof. Tapan Kumar Shaha said, Shamsul is not safe in his dormitory. So, he is under police custody and it has been informed to his guardian.
