The Jahangirnagar University (JU) is set to observe the National Children’s Day and the 98th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 17 in a befitting manner on the campus.
Marking the day, the university authority has chalked out elaborate programmes including joyous procession, placing floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, composition competition for the children and offering a special prayer at the central mosque for the eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu, said a press release on Wednesday.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam along with Pro-VC Prof Amir Hussain, Treasurer Prof Sheikh Monzurul Huq, Registrar Abu Bakr Siddique, teachers and students of the university will participate at the daylong programme on the day, the release added.
