Former Professor of Bangla Department at Jahangirnagar University U H M Shamsunnahar passed away on Thursday morning at her residence in the city’s Green Road area.
She is survived by a daughter, relatives, well-wishers and a host of admirers.
Vice Chancellor of the university Professor Farzana Islam expressed profound shock at the death of Prof Shamsunnhar.
In a condolence message, the VC said that her death is an irreparable loss for the country.
