The authority of Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Saturday placed Tk 119.00 crore budget for the fiscal year 2015-2016.Treasurer of the university Professor Dr. Abul Khair placed the budget at the annual senate meeting held at the senate hall with Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Farzana Islam in chair.The treasurer also presented a Taka 114.65 crore revised budget for the current fiscal year 2014-2015.
In the upcoming fiscal year Tk 106.50 crore will come from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and TK 12.50 crore from university’s own sources. The budget will have a deficit of about Taka 13.31 crore, the treasurer told the senate.
JU VC in her speech mentioned a plan for upcoming fiscal year. The authorities are going to extend the Bangamata Fazilatinnessa Muzib hall, Social Science faculty, Arts faculty, Chemistry, Computer Science and Engineering building, she added.
