The Chancellor and President Abdul Hamid on Monday appointed Professor Amir Hossain and Professor Md Sheikh Manzurul Haque as Pro Vice-Chancellor and Treasurer respectively of Jahangirnagar University (JU) for the next four years.
The Education Ministry issued separate notices in this regard, said a JU press release.
JU Economics Department Professor Amir Hossain is currently discharging duty as the Social Science Faculty Dean while Geography and Environment Department Professor Manzurul Haque is discharging duty as the Law Faculty Dean.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed Pro-VC and Treasurer took their office through a function at senate hall of the university at administration building.
JU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Farzana Islam and Pro Vice-Chancellor Abul Hossain were present at the function.
