JU expels 23 BCL leaders

A total 23 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), Jahangirnagar University (JU) unit, were expelled for different terms and fined following a factional clash at Maulana Bhasani Hall on August 20, 2014.
The decision came following a syndicate meeting on Saturday night at registrar building on the campus here with the Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Farzana Islam in the chair.
Of the expelled students, five were expelled for lifetime, seven for two years, three for one year, two for six months and five for three months.
All of them are the residents of Moulana Bhasani Hall.
KM Nurunnabi of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Department also the organizing secretary of JU BCL Unit, Anindo Baroi of Anthropology Department also the general secretary of BCL Maulana Bhasani Hall uint, AKM Khairuzzaman of History Department, Istihad Ahmed Bijoy of Chemistry Department and Kishor Das of Physics Department were expelled for lifetime.
M. Moinul Hoassain Rajon of Anthropology Department, Naimul Islam of Marketing Department, Saddam Hossain of Botany Department, Adal-AL-Noman of Marketing Department, and Tanvir Ahmed Sajib of Marketing Department. Raj Prashad Raj of Environmental Science Department, Kazi Asad-Ullah Toha of Physics Department were expelled for two years.
Shiab Khandakar of Physics Department, Kazi Raihan Habib of Marketing Department, Nishat Rahman Ramim of Finance and Banking Department were expelled for one year.
Santo Kumar Nath of Environmental Science Department, Shakiluz Zaman Shakil of Botany Department were expelled for six months.
Delwar Jahan Janto of Philosophy Department, Avijit Kumer Singh of Marketing Department, Ahsanur Rahman Abir of Economics Department, Pavel Rahman of Economics Department and Abdul Momin of Botany Department were expelled for three months.
On the other hand, the certificates of graduation and post graduation of Rasel Mahmud of JU Physics Department also senior joint secretary of JU BCL unit were postponed and he was fined TK one lakh.
