Jahangirnagar University (JU) clinched the champion trophy at 3rd national inter university debate contest held at Rajshahi University (RU) while Dhaka University (DU) became the runner up.
JU student Mahbubul Islam was selected as the best debater.
The two day long debate competition titled “Cute-BFDF 3rd National Debate Contest” on RU campus ended on Saturday evening.
Business Studies Faculty Debating Forum (BFDF), a renowned student’s debating organization on RU campus organized the function with the assistance of ‘Cute’, a cosmetic manufacturing institution of the country.
On Saturday afternoon, the prize giving ceremony was held following the final round of the contest where Junaid Ahmed Polok MP, state minister of Ministry of Information and Communication Technology was present as chief guest.
Among others, RU Pro-VC Prof Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan, student advisor Prof Sadequl Arefin Matin addressed the function as special guest.
A total of 27 debating groups from public and private universities took part in the contest.
