Miscreants torched a university bus on the campus early Sunday.
Samsul, a canteen boy of the campus transport office said the bus was set ablaze at the bus pool site around 4:00am.
‘We rushed to the spot and doused the flame with the help of the on-duty guards,’ he said.
However, no one was injured in the incident.
JU Vice-Chancellor Prof.Farzana Islam and Pro-VC Prof. Abul Hossain visited the place around 9:00am.
Demanding the punishment of the miscreants, Assistant Prof. Lutful Elahi, acting in-charge of transport office (Additional) said that “we informed it to the administration and suggest to keep the university’s vehicles in a safe place”.
JU Registrar Abu Bakar Siddique said that they would file a case soon.
Meantime, the authority sacked an on duty guard for the allegation of neglecting his duty.
