A joint-secretary died after crushing under the wheels of the intercity Haor Express Train in Mymensingh on Monday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Ranjit Chandra Sarkar (55) of the Primary and Mass Education Ministry.
District Railway Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Ahad said that the joint-secretary died at Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital (MMCH).
He further said that Ranjit fell under the wheels of the Dhaka bound Haor Express Train when he was trying to board and was seriously injured.
He was rushed to MMCH where he succumbed to injuries, the OC added.
Primary information said that Ranajit was returning to Dhaka from his home district of Netrakona after the vacation of Eid-ul-Azha.
