A-four member JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) delegation led by Kuniaki YAMASHITA, Director, JSPS, Bangkok Office called on UGC Chairman (State Minister) Prof Dr AK Azad Chowdhury at the latter’s office on Saturday. Other members of the delegation included Dr Afzal Hossain, President, Bangladesh JSPS Allumni Association, Dr Nur Ahmed Khandaker, General Secretary, Bangladesh JSPS Allumni Association, Daisuke Yamada, Deputy Director, JSPS and Hiromi TODOROKI, JSPS Bangkik Office.
They stressed the need for strengthening the academic exchange programme in the field of science and technology.
They also laid emphasis on deepening mutual collaboration between UGC and JSPS.
UGC Chairman said JSPS can take initiative to encrease the number of Fellowship in field of science and technology.
UGC Members – Prof Dr Atful Hye Shibly, Prof Dr M Muhibur Rahman, Prof Dr Abul Hashem, Prof Dr Md. Akhtar Hossain and UGC Secretary Dr Md. Khaled were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, a Trust Deed was signed between Ministry of Education and the first Trustee Board of BdREN (Bangladesh Research and Education Network) on the day. UGC Chairman (State Minister) Prof Dr AK Azad Chowdhury, its Members- Prof Dr Atful Hye Shibly, Prof Dr M. Muhibur Rahman, Prof Dr Abul Hashem, Prof Dr Md. Akhtar Hossain, Vice-Chancellors of different public and private universities, UGC Secretary Dr Md. Khaled, representative from Ministry of Education and HEQEP among others, were present on the occasion.
