The Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dhakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations-2016 will be held under the Education Ministry instead of the Primary and Mass Education Ministry.
The JSC and JDC examinations will start from November 1 this year.
Earlier, the government has decided to take the JSC and JDC examinations under Primary and Mass Education Ministry as a part of the initiative to turn the primary education up to Class-VIII.
Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman Fizar informed the Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid through a Demi Official Letter (DO Letter) on Thursday. Mostafizur Rahman Fizar said, the Education Ministry asked the Primary and Mass Education Ministry to take the JSC and JDC examinations. But the Cabinet did not finalize the matter. That is why the examinations will be held under the Education Ministry.
The Education Ministry officials told The New Nation yesterday that the ministry would not get any pain to take the responsibility of the examinations.
“The ministry supervises the examinations. But, actually the boards arrange and maintain all the responsibilities of the examinations. So, we see no problem here,” an official of the ministry said.
Meanwhile, some officials of both ministries blamed the lack of coordination between the Education Ministry and Primary and Mass Education Ministry. They said that, it was unwise that the ministry changed its decision just before 12 days of the examinations only.
