The Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations-2016 will begin today (Tuesday) across the country.
The Education Ministry has taken all initiatives to hold the examination in a peaceful manner across the country, the Ministry sources said. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid told The New Nation on Monday that stern action would be taken if anyone tries to leak question papers of JSC and JDC examinations.
“If any teacher or any staff of any coaching centre tries to leak questions or spread rumour in the social media site, he or she will not be spared,” warned Nurul Islam Nahid. “We’ve already made a list of suspected teachers and coaching centers staff and brought them under surveillance,” he said.
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) will also monitor whether anyone is trying to spread any rumour in the social media site, he added. If the BTRC finds any irregularity, they will inform law enforcement agencies to take proper initiatives, the Minister said. Besides, necessary steps will be taken to maintain secrecy while delivering question papers to examination centers, Nahid said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry has prohibited teachers, examiners and candidates of JSC and JDC examinations from carrying mobile phones, electronic watches and electronic pens inside the examination halls.
The Education Minister said a few teachers in some places were involved in helping examinees by doing unethical practices. “They have disgraced the image of the teaching community,” he said.
He also warned of taking legal actions against the teachers and examiners if they are found guilty of helping examinees unethically.
