The Junior School Certificate (JSC) and the Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations-2016 began across the country on Tuesday.
A total of 24, 12,775 examinees are taking part in the examinations from 28,761 educational institutions at 2,734 centers.
The three-hour examination started at 10am.
This year, a total of 2,412,775 examinees, 11,24, 373 males and 12,88,402 females, are sitting for the JSC and the JDC examinations.A total of 681 students from eight overseas centres are also appearing in the JSC examinations.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid accompanied by the Education Secretary visited Dhanmondi Government Boys’ High School centre in the capital on Tuesday morning.
He also talked to the guardians outside the centre assuring them of taking steps against question paper leak.
While talking, guardians demanded capital punishment for those involved in question paper leak.
Assuring them of taking stern steps against the question leak racket, he requested all not to run after fake questions.
“We have taken steps to prevent question paper leak. Hopefully, no such incident will take place. But, please (you) don’t run after fake question,” he said.
“Students are happy to see the question paper. I urged the students to come to the centre 30 minutes before the beginning of examination. And they responded to the call,” the Minister said.
The JSC and the JDC examinations will end on 17 November and the results will be published within December 30.
