JS special session on Mujib Barsha prorogued

The tenth special session of the eleventh Jatiya Sangsad (JS), marking the Bangabandhu birth centenary was prorogued on Thursday.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury read out the prorogation order of the President.
Earlier, a video of Bangabandhu’s speech delivered in then parliament sessionon January 25, 1975was aired in the House.
Meanwhile, President Abdul Hamid witnessed the discussions of the session on Sunday last from the President’s Box at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
On November 9, the President addressed the session on the occasion of Mujib Year. On the same day, the Prime Minister and Leader of the House Sheikh Hasina proposed a general discussion on Rule 147 to honour the Father of the Nation. Members of Parliament discussed this proposal in Parliament for five working days.
Seventy-nine MPs took part in the discussions in the special session that began on November 8 and they talked for about 19 hours and three minutes and highlighted the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s political and economic philosophies.
