The Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday passed the “Bangladesh Space Research and Remote Sensing Organisation (SPARSO) (Amendment) Bill, 2016 reconstituting its board of management through inclusion of a space scientist or expert in the board.
The bill has made provisions for further gearing up research and practice of space science and technology in the country.
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq, also in charge of the Defence Ministry in Parliament, moved the bill in the House for passage. The bill was passed with voice votes with Deputy Speaker Fazley Rabbi Miah in the chair.
Earlier, Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam, who was also in charge of Defense Ministry in Parliament, introduced the bill in the House on April 26, 2016.
