JS passes BD National Cadet Core Bill, 2016

The Jatiya Sangsad passed the “Bangladesh National Cadet Core Bill, 2016,” in an amended form with a view to imparting training to the students of recognized schools, colleges and universities so that they would be able to render organized and disciplined services during any emergency situation as worthy citizens of Bangladesh.
The House adopted the bill by voice votes on Tuesday with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
Moving the bill in the House, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anisul Huq, also in-charge of defence ministry in parliament, proposed formation of a national cadet core with the objective of imparting training to the students of recognized schools, colleges and universities for building them as worthy citizens of the country.
The bill will help the students playing a pioneering role in rendering organized and disciplined service to the country and nation during peace, war and emergency.
According to the bill, the listed members, officers and employees of
Bangladesh National Cadet Core would act as an auxiliary force of the armed
forces to protect the sovereignty of the country.
Earlier on September 25, 2016, Anisul Huq introduced the Bangladesh National
Cadet Core Bill, 2016, in the Jatiya Sangsad.
