The House Committee of the 10th parliament in a meeting on Thursday recommended taking steps to ensure security and proper environment for MPs living in the six buildings in Manik Mia Avenue and four buildings in Nakhalpara.
Chaired by committee president Chief Whip ASM Firoz, the meeting also discussed the problems of water, power and gas and suggested the parliament secretariat to take necessary steps to counsel the MPs living there under the leadership of the Chief Whip, said a handout.
It also suggested taking steps to install sound control system to protect the MPs living in these buildings from noise pollution.
The meeting also recommended constitution of a five-member management committee for each building of MPs. It also recommended taking steps by the Public Works Department to replace and repair the lifts of the six buildings in Manik Mia Avenue.
Other members of the committee Md Tajul Islam Chowdhury, Md Abdus Shahid, whip Mrs Mahbub Ara Begum Gini, Panchannon Biswas, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Md Aslamul Haq and Nazmul Haq Pradhan attended the meeting.
