The 9th meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Disaster Management and Relief Ministry was held at the Jatiya Sangsad bhaban with committee Chairman AB Tajul Islam in the chair.
Committee members – State Minister Dr. Md. Enamur Rahman, Md. Aftab Uddin Sarkar, Mir Mostaq Ahmed Robi, Jewel Areng, Mojibur Rahman Chowdhury, Masud Uddin Chowdhury and Kazi Kaniz Sultana were also present at the meeting.
The meeting held on Wednesday recommended that a copy of the allocation made by the deputy commissioner in the flood-affected areas should be given to the people’s representatives of the area. The committee also recommended that the deputy commissioner shouldhold a meeting with the public representatives in this regard.
A three-member sub-committee headed by Masud Uddin Chowdhury was formed to review the progress and latest status of the Mujib Kella project.
Among others, Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, senior officials of the ministry andofficialsconcerned and Parliament Secretariat were present at the meeting.
