The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Liberation War Affairs recommended some modifications to the historic Independence Monument being built at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.
The committee, led by its Chairman Shahjahan Khan, placed the recommendations recently while visiting the site to oversee the progress of the ongoing construction work of the monument, said a press release of the Parliament Secretariat.
During the visit, the committee also recommended to set up a hall room (with light and sound system) in the project area. Member of the committee Mayeen Uddin Khan Badal was present during the visit.
Liberation War Affairs secretary, high officials of Public Works Department, ministry and the Parliament Secretariat were present.
