Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Railway Ministry on Thursday discussed in details on the Railway Property (Unlawful Possession Reclamation) Law, 2016 and decided to present the report of the bill in the current session of the parliament.
The discussion was held at the 24th meeting of the committee at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here with committee chairman ABM Fazley Karim Chowdhury in the chair.
The meeting also discussed on the distribution of railway land license for the unused land
under the rules of land management of Bangladesh Railway to check illegal occupation of railway land, increase revenue income and to maintain the ownership of the land.
Committee member and Railway Minister M Mujibul Haq, M Moslem Uddin, Khalid Mahmud Chowhdury, M Ali Asgar, Muhammad Mizanur Rahman, M Sirajul Islam Mollah, Mohammad Noman, Yasin Ali and Fatema Zohra Rani participated in the meeting.
The meeting also has discussed on the progress of all the development projects running under the Railway Ministry.
Senior ministry officials including Secretary of the Railway Ministry and Director General of Bangladesh Railway were present the meeting.
