The members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources yesterday (Thursday) inspected the under-construction 365 Megawatt Combined Cycles Power Station and 3,4 and 6 units under the Re-powering of the power station at Gorashal in Narsingdi district.
While visiting, the standing committee members learned about the different small and others
things of the projects from the officials of Bangladesh Power Development Board and the construction company. Md Tajul Islam, MP, President of the Standing Committee led the team. Among others, Md Abu Zahir, MP, and Nasima Ferdousi, MP, were present on the occasion.
During the visit, BPDB Chairman Engineer Khaled Mahmud elaborately presented the present power production scenario and future plans of Gorashal Power Station through a power point presentation. It has been told that the present production capacity of Gorashal Power Station is 966 megawatt.
Team leader Tajul Islam, MP, urged all concerned to finish the projects work within the given time and assured them of full support.
The Project Directors and the higher officials of the Sangsad Secretariat and the PDB were present during the inspection.
