The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Housing and Public Works Ministry recommended to hold a coordination meeting between Dhaka North City Corporation and the Public Works Department soon to construct underpass in Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban (JS) area.
The recommendation came on Sunday at the 22nd meeting of the committee held at the JS Bhaban with its Chairman Md Dabirul Islam in the chair.
Committee members Sadhon Chandra Majumder, AKM Fazlul Haque, Abu Saleh Mohammad Sayeed (Dulal), Begum Nur-e-Hasina Lili Chowdhury and Nurjahan Begum were present in the meeting.
The committee urged the concerned authority to recruit manpower and reopen the two Fire Service and Civil Defence Stations at Haripur and Ranisainkal upazila at the earliest possible time.
The meeting also suggested immediate implementation of the projects at Thakurgaon, Chandpur, Sherpur and Habiganj districts undertaken by the Public Works Department.
Senior officials of the concerned ministry and Jatiya Sangsad, were present, among others, at the meeting.
