The 7th meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Land was held on Wednesday at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with Committee Chairman Md. Mokbul Hossain in the chair.
At the beginning of the meeting, special prayers were offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other members of Bangabandhu’s family who were martyred on the black night of August 15, 1975, a press release said.
The committee members congratulated the prime minister as she was conferred the prestigious ‘United Nations Public Service Award-2020’ in recognition of the launch of e-Mutation programme of land.
The committee made recommends to present a complete list of names of illegal occupants of Bhawal Raj Estate land at the next committee meeting.
It also recommended determining the amount of land on the Bhawal Raj Estate and taking necessary steps for its speedy recovery.
Committee members Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, Manoranjan Shill Gopal, Md Habibar Rahman, Md Anwarul Azim, Nesar Ahmed, Umme Fatema Nazma Begum and Md Aminul Islam attended the meeting.
