The 16th meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Woman and Children Affairs was held on Tuesday at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) bhaban with committee Chairman Meher Afroze Chumki in the chair.
Woman and Children Affairs State Minister Fazilatunnesa Indira, members of the parliament- Md Sahjahan Mia, AM Naimur Rahman, Md Abdul Aziz, Shabnam Jahan, Syeda Rashida Begum and Sahdara Mannan were present at the meeting, said a press release issued here on Tuesday.
Aroma Dutta, MP, also joined the meeting at the special request of the committee chairman.
At the meeting, present a report in the National Parliament on- ‘Prevention of Violence against Women and Children (Amendment) Bill, 2020’, subject to necessary amendments, said the release.
Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs and concerned officials of the Ministry and the Parliament Secretariat were also present, at the meeting.
