The maiden meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs was held at the Jatiya Sangshad Bhaban on Monday.
The meeting discussed overall activities of the ministry and the projects taken for development of the CHT region.
The meeting informed that a total of Taka 240 crore were allotted to the ministry for development of CHT in fiscal 2018-19.
In addition, a total of Taka 70 crore has been given to 3 Hill Tracts District Councils and Chattogram Hill Tracts Development Board in fiscal 2018-19.
The committee recommended taking action against the people used illegal arms during the District and Regional Council Election held earlier this year.
