The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry for Environment and Forest on Sunday formed a three-member sub-committee to make recommendations for banning the use of all types of polythene bags.
The sub-committee, headed by Tipu Sultan, was formed at the 8th meeting of the standing committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, said an official release.
Standing Committee chairman Hasan Mahmud presided over the meeting. Committee members Environment and Forest Minister Anwar Hossain Manju, Nabi Newaj, Mohammad Golam Rabbani, M Yahyia Chowdhury, Tipu Sultan, Majibur Rahman Chowdhury and Merina Rahman attended the meeting.
