The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Primary and Mass Education Ministry recommended taking effective measures to stop dropouts in primary schools.
The recommendation was made on Wednesday at the 8th meeting of the standing committee at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with committee Chairman M Motahar Hossain in the chair.
Committee Members Mostafizur Rahman, AKM Jahangir Hossain, M Abdur Rahman, Ali Azam, Mohammad Ilias and Umme Razia Kajal attended the meeting, said an official release.
The meeting also recommended recruiting teachers in vacant posts of primary schools soon to ensure proper education for the students.
It suggested training the teachers to increase their efficiency.
The committee reviewed the report prepared after visiting ‘Anando Schools’ and recommended strengthening monitoring of those schools.
It held discussions on appointment of manpower in the posts created in 1,500 schools.
It also discussed the issue of the teachers of nationalized schools who are not getting salaries. Senior officials concerned were present at the meeting.
