The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Disaster Management and Relief Ministry strongly recommended taking initiatives to provide erosion and flood victims with special allocation as early as possible.
The recommendation was made at the 5th meeting held on Thursday at the Parliament House with its Chairman AB Tajul Islam in the chair, said a press release.The meeting discussed about the work plans and actions taken by the ministry in flood and erosion prone areas.
The committee placed a recommendation to provide the victims with emergency help and house building materials soon as possible, the release added. The meeting also recommended the ministry to take initiatives to start the work of making concrete roads to make the herringbone roads sustainable. Earlier, a special prayer was offered for Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his family and 21 August victims.
