The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Government Assurances suggested the ministries concerned to implement the projects as soon as possible with transparency and efficiency following the unified price schedule.
The committee made the recommendation at its 7th meeting held recently at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban here with its Chairman Professor Md Ali Ashraf in the chair.
The committee discussed in details the assurance given in the parliament from the 14th session to 23rd session of the 10th parliament and the assurance given by the Prime Minister, Disaster Management and Relief Ministry and Social Welfare Minister in the House at the fourth session of the 11th parliament.
The parliamentary watchdog also discussed the projects taken by the Disaster Management and Relief Ministry and Social Welfare Ministry and suggested the ministries to implement the projects properly to ensure the public welfare.
The meeting was informed that 161,765 people were given allowances through EFT in fiscal 2018-19 under the MIS at 16 upazilas in nine districts while target has been set to give allowances through the EFT to 10 lakh people in fiscal 2019-20.
Committee members Alhaj Md Dabirul Islam, Md Mazibul Hoque, Moin Uddin Khan Badal, Ghulam Muhammed Quader, Fakhrul Imam and Gulam Mohammad Siraj attended the meeting.
