The meeting of Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism on Sunday recommended starting the construction work of Hazrat Khan Jahan Ali Airport immediately.
It also recommended taking steps for modernize and expansion of Biman, purchasing of new aircraft for establishing the national flag-carrier as a passenger friendly airline, said a press release.
Committee Chairman RAM Obaidul Moktadir Chowdhury chaired the meeting while members state minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali, Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Tanvir Imam, Asheque Ullah Rafique, Anwar Hossain Khan and Sheikh Tanmoy attended it.
The meeting recommended the ministry to submit a complete report on the unexpected incidents took place recently in Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
