The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Women and Children Affairs Ministry recommended taking steps to organize an hour-long session on the early marriage issue every week at colleges for increasing awareness among the students.
The recommendation came at the 41st meeting of the committee held on Sunday at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman Rebeka Mamin presiding, said an official release here.
Committee members Mahabub Ara Begum Gini, Begum Nasrin Jahan Ratna, Begum Fazilatun Nessa, Amina Ahmed, Monowara Begum and Rifat Amin attended the meeting.
The meeting held discussions on the health service programmes implementing by the ministry at different centers, clinics and hospitals.
The committee also recommended holding six job fairs at the divisional level, the release added.
Secretary of the Women and Children Affairs Ministry Nasima Begum, senior officials of the ministry and parliament, among others, were also present in the meeting.
