JS body for probing misuse of money in buying X-ray films at DMCH

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Accounts on Tuesday suggested forming a three-member committee headed by a joint secretary to investigate misappropriation of Taka 1,23,19,400 in buying additional X-ray films at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
The committee strongly recommended taking proper steps against the people responsible within 30 days after the submission of the report.
The recommendation came at the 73rd meeting of the committee with its Chairman Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir in the chair held at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here, said an official release.
Committee members AFM Ruhal Haque, AKM Maidul Haque, Md Rustam Ali Farazi, Panchanan Biswas, Moin Uddin Khan Badal and Washika Aysha Khan, among others, attended the meeting.
The committee also recommended depositing unspent money of various projects under different medical colleges to the government fund within the next 15 days.
The meeting discussed the issue of audit objections in the accounts of Directorate General of Health Services and medical colleges.
Secretary of the health ministry, senior officials of different government health organizations and the Jatiya Sangsad were present in the meeting, the release said.
