Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Industries recommended to place the “Bangladesh Ship Reprocessing Bill, 2017” before the next parliament session.
The committee in its 18th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban on the twelfth instant had an elaborate discussion on the bill and suggested for placing it before the next JS session after reviewing the bill in the next meeting, said a official press release.
President of the committee Omar Faruk Chowdhury presided over the meeting while committee members Abul Kalam M Ahsanul Haque Chowdhury and Rahim Ullah were present in the meeting.
Secretary of the ministry, Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) chairman, Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) chairman, leaders of the Bangladesh Ship Breaker Association and senior officials of the parliament secretariat were present.
