JS body for observing Bangamata’s birthday as national day

The parliamentary standing committee on Ministry of Women and Children Affairs on Wednesday recommended observing birthday of Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib as a national day.
The recommendation was made at its 38th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its president Rebeka Momin in the chair. Committee members Monwara Begum and Rifat Amin attended the meeting, among others.
The committee also recommended holding a special hour-long session per week in every college to make the students aware about the danger of child-marriage.
“The committee members proposed to construct Joyeeta Tower in capital’s Dhanmandi area, making the policy for human resource management for Joyeeta Foundation, ensuring training for girls and creating branding image for Joyeeta,” an official release said.
The committee also emphasized on building safe day care for small children.
