JS body for more research on primary education

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education on Thursday recommended more research activities at National Academy for Primary Education (NAPE) to ensure desired standard of primary education.
The committee asked the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education to take necessary initiatives to gear up research activities of NAPE at a meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here. Committee Chairman Md Motahar Hossain presided over the meeting.
Other members of the committee – – Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman, AKM Jahangir Hossain, Shamsul Haque Chowdhury, Md Nazrul Islam Babu, Ali Azam, Mohammad Ilias and Umme Razia Kajol attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the JS body also made recommendation of enhancing monitoring on printing and distribution process of textbooks for primary level students to check any sort of irregularity and corruption.
It also suggested the ministry concerned to provide allowance to the teachers working in haor and tea garden areas.
The parliamentary standing committee asked the Public Administration Ministry and the Finance Ministry to take necessary measures to provide salaries and allowances to the teachers of the schools, which were nationalized in second and third phases.
