The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology recommended more coordination between Posts and Telecommunications and ICT divisions in carrying out their works.
The recommendation was made at the 19th meeting of the committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Tuesday with its Chairman Imran Ahmed in the chair. Committee members state minister for posts and telecommunications Tarana Halim, Moazzem Hossain Ratan, Shawkat Hachanur Rahman (Rimon) and Hosne Ara Lutfa Dalia attended the meeting.
The parliamentary body also urged the ministry to take necessary steps to call retender for quick implementation of WNB project of Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL). Besides, the committee suggested the ministry to maintain communication with the finance and planning ministries to disburse the fund for the network expansion project of Teletalk.
