The second meeting of the sub-committee number 2 of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs was held on Sunday at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here, with sub-committee convener Md Shahiduzzaman in the chair.
Committee members – Md Abdul Mazid Khan, Shamim Haider Khan Patwary, Gloria Jharna Sarker and Rumin Farhana also attended the meeting, said an official press release.
In the meeting, the committee had an elaborate discussion on the possible measures to be taken to remove public sufferings and irregularities concerning land registration.
The committee discussed the necessity of regular monitoring of the land offices to stop corruption and took a decision to inspect land offices in different districts soon, added the release.
The committee also opined gathering knowledge from the countries having modern and people-friendly land registration system to upgrade the existing law and system of the country.
Senior officials of Registration Department, of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs ministry and parliament were present, among others, at the meeting.
