The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Textiles and Jute Ministry Thursday recommended making profitable the state-owned jute mills by undertaking balancing, modernization, rehabilitation and expansion (BMRE) projects.
The recommendation was made at the 7th meeting of the committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with committee Chairman Saber Hossain Chowdhury presiding, said an official release.
Committee members Minister for Jute and Textiles Muhammad Imaz Uddin Pramanik, State Minister for Jute and Textiles Mirza Azam, Mannujan Sufian, Fahmi Golandaz Babel, Dr. M. Enamur Rahman, Kujendra Lal Tripura and Sabina Aktar Tuhin attended the meeting.
