JS body for keeping BTMC functioning

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Textiles and Jute Ministry suggested the ministry to take all necessary measures to keep Bangladesh Textiles Mills Corporation (BTMC) functioning.
The suggestion was made on Tuesday at the 3rd meeting of the committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with committee Chairman Saber Hossain Chowdhury presiding, said an official release. Committee members-Minister for Jute and Textiles Muhammad Imajuddin Pramanik, State Minister Mirza Azam, Fahmi Golandaz Babel, Dr. M. Enamur Rahman and Begum Sabina Aktar Tuhin attended the meeting.
The committee exchanged views with the stakeholders of BTMC activities and leaders of private textile mills association. The meeting recommended conducting an extensive survey on the overall activities of the agencies under textiles and jute ministry.
It also recommended using public land under the ministry for productive activities without selling out. Textiles and jute secretary and senior officials concerned were present in the meeting.
